Your child's teacher is available to answer questions about your child's progress and what they are learning in class. Be sure to attend conferences, contact your child's teacher via email, notes, and/or phone calls. Attend school events (i.e., Open House, Parent Math Night, etc.), as well. Review any work that comes home (corrected papers, classwork or homework) to see what your child is working on in class.
Keep an open line of communication with your child’s teacher. Questions to ask your child’s teacher:
- Can you show me examples of student work that meets the learning goals?
- How can I help support my child at home?
- If my child is struggling, what kind of support can you provide?
- Where is my child excelling? How can I support this success?
